Come See Us at the 24th Annual Garden Fair!

We are excited to be attending the 24th Annual Garden Fair hosted by the St. Marys Horticultural Society.  This is happening on Saturday June 1, 2024 from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the  Milt Dunnell Field in  St. Marys (rain or shine!).

Our crafty volunteers/supporters have been hard at it, creating one- of- a kind glass garden art, super cute fairy doors, cat-themed key lanyards, handmade soap and more! Mark your calendars and share with friends and family. It's a short drive to St. Marys and we look forward to seeing you there!

Other items featured at the Garden Show include:
  • Hanging baskets
  • Perrenials
  • Annuals & vegetables
  • Water Plants
  • Unique Bird Houses
  • Metal artwork
  • Heirloom Tomatoes
  • Refreshments
To our volunteers, donors, community supporters, vet partners, newsletter subscribers and social media followers, we couldn't do this without you.

On behalf of all the cats in our care, Kira would like to say thank you!

We'd also like to send a heartfelt thank you to our local pet stores for their generosity and support. We are truly grateful and appreciative of all you do to help us on our mission to reduce homelessness and cat overpopulation through our spay/neuter programs.

P.S. Kira is still looking for her forever home. This stunner found herself living under a shed with three kittens (who have all been adopted). She’s currently at Petsmart. Kira is a bit shy at first but is slowly coming out her shell. Give her head scratches and you'll see! If you know someone who may be interested in this shy beauty please forward on this newsletter or share any of Kira's social media posts! Of course, if you are interested in Kira you can fill out our inquiry form and a volunteer will be in touch.
Bottles & Cans...
We'll Take Them Off Your Hands

____________________________________________________

Reminder: you can donate your empty beer, wine and liquor bottles & cans to Feline Friends by dropping them off at:

178 Frederick Street, Stratford.

Please rinse out your empties to reduce the mess and odour for our volunteers. If cans are not in a case, it’s helpful if you put them in a clear plastic bag with a note showing how many are inside. Many thanks to volunteer Charles for collecting and returning empties for FFN!

Luke, I Could Be Your Kitty!

Meet Roger (aka Vader)! Where do we start with this guy? We know he was living outside for a long time. He had several people looking out for him and one of our volunteers secured him and brought him into our care.

When Roger came to us he had an occasional limp. When examined more closely we noticed he was missing most of the toes on his back foot. It was an old injury that had completely healed so no treatment was required. His breathing is very noisy and he actually sounds like Darth Vader especially when he purrs. He also had a gash on his back that was infected and an ear infection. He went to the vet two more times with regards to his noisy breathing and it was decided a chest x-ray was in order. Everything was clear and he was okayed for his neuter appointment. Oh and he also needed dental surgery to remove three teeth! (As you can imaging his vet bills were quite high so if you would like to offset some of his medical costs please consider an e-transfer donation to info@felinefriends.ca and put Roger in the message section).

Roger is always going to sound like Darth Vader as a result of damage to the nasal bones in his nose. He is a sweet boy who can be shy on first meeting but once he settles in he is full of love, purrs and belly rubs. He has been vaccinated, neutered, microchipped and is FIV/FeLV negative. His age is estimated to be between 3-4 years

If interested in adopting Roger, aka Vader, please fill out our inquiry form and a volunteer will be in touch.
