MEDRC Launches a Specialized Desalination Training Programme Supported by BP Oman
 
Under the Patronage of HE Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi
 
6th February, Muscat: MEDRC Water Research officially launched the TAHLYA Training Programme for fresh Omani graduates on 6th of February at MEDRC’s premises. Developed to meet the growing needs of the water desalination industry, TAHLYA aims to train 60 Omani nationals in reverse osmosis desalination to the level of operators and supervisors. The ceremony was held under the patronage of H.E. Sayyid Badr bin Hamad Al Busaidi, Secretary General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and was attended by BP Oman President, Center Director of MEDRC as well as government officials.

“The aim of TAHLYA training programme is to enable young Omanis with the skills to be supervisors and operators to meet the progressive developments of Oman’s water desalination industry. Investing in such initiatives supports the development of a competent national workforce to pilot evolving industries as a future contributor to the national economy,” Eng. MEDRC Finalizes dictionary on Desalination for GIZ project Arabterm


MEDRC has contributed to the Arabterm project coordinated by the German Corporation for International Cooperation– GIZ Morocco by a desalination dictionary of 500 terms in English, Arabic and French (also translated to German by GIZ/ALECSO/Bureau of Arabization team), with their definitions almost in English and Arabic and illustrations as well.  READ MORE HERE

For the first time in Oman Flowserve have joined hands with MEDRC Water Research for a training on Pump/Energy Recovery Devices in Desalination Plants.

Specialized Operation & Maintenance Training for Farmers in the West Bank, Palestine - Training using Marj' Na'jeh Desalination Plant


MEDRC desalination training professional conducted training during the month of December for farmers operating small-scale plants in the West Bank.
Entitled “RO Brackish Water Operation and Troubleshooting” the 3 day training included theoretical and practical to courses to help give the participants an enhanced understanding of handling brackish water.

Improving Gaza Strip Water Hygiene - MEDRC Funds Major Research Project on Medical Wastewater Treatment

The project was aimed to identify medical wastewater as a first step towards wastewater management in the Gaza Strip.

The main objective  is to improve the water status and health hygiene for the residents by treating the medical waste of Al Shifa Hospital and designing a wastewater plant for the hospital.
