LimeBike Launches in Ithaca

Come to a ribbon cutting celebration at Streets Alive! 1:15 PM in front of GIAC (301 W Court St, Ithaca, NY)
Many lime green, 8-speed bikeshare bikes appeared in Ithaca on Monday! Bike Walk Tompkins and community partners facilitated the process to choose a system that would fit our community. The bikeshare is operated by LimeBike, a private dock-free bikesharing company that has launched bikeshare in over 50 markets.
There is no membership required to use the bikes. Just download the app on the App Store or Google Play store, find a bike, and unlock the wheel. One-way bike trips can be taken anywhere you like, then you just lock the rear wheel when you are done. You can leave them anywhere you could normally park a bike, ideally next to existing bike racks or in the zone between the sidewalk and the street. Don't block pathways, bus stops, ramps for wheelchairs, or leave them on the ground. Bikeshare relies on good parking etiquette!

See LimeBike's site for all the details on how to access and use the system, and check out Bike Walk Tompkins FAQs for information specific to Ithaca. Last thing: if you encounter any issues with LimeBike, call their 24/7 number at 1-888-LIME-345.

Project Eddy Gate Pop-Up Park: May 4-6

Project Eddy Gate is a three-day transformation of Eddy Gate - the former historic entrance to Cornell - from dark corridor & parking lot to a lively outdoor living room. This "pop up park" will feature live music and performances (Yamatai, Cornell Bhangra, Jazz Voices, and Dexia Sambar), as well as collaborative art installations, food trucks (Dos Amigos and Silo Fried Chicken), and much more! Come and decide the future of Collegetown's last public space!
