In our last newsletter, we learned of three baptisms that doubled the Wiregrass (Enterprise) ministry. Here is some more information on our new brother and sisters.
Marc and Yulia Roe
Marc Roe is a Lt. Colonel in the US army, currently serving as Deputy Chief of the US Army Combat Readiness Center at Fort Rucker. He served overseas in Desert Shield/Storm, and was also deployed to Germany, South Korea and the Honduras. His professional skills include flying CH-47 Chinook helicopters and C-12 Huron Cargo planes. Marc hails from Kansas City, and has a degree in management from Troy, and a master's in public administration from Central Michigan University. He loves to spend time with his family and watch U Kansas basketball and Oakland Raiders football.
Yulia Roe grew up in Khabarovsk, Russia. She has a degree in finance and will complete a master's degree in social work in July, specializing in mental health and marriage and family counseling. She has been working in internships, serving clients with addictions, PTSD and emotional damage. Yulia previously worked as an accountant and on the management side of a company that managed professional athletes in Russia. She enjoys photography and cooking.
The Roes have been married ten years and have four children: Michael, 9; Maya, 7; Marina, 4; and Malia, 2.
Becki Gibson grew up in Indianola, Iowa and has a degree in elementary education from Emmaeus Bible College in Dubuque, Iowa. She currently works for AT&T in Andalusia as a sales support representative. Formerly, she taught 1st and 4th grade at a Christian School in Florida. Becki is married to John Gibson, who is in the Air Force, and has two daughters, Kaitlyn, 11, and Carly, 7. She enjoys cooking and reading.
Starting this Sunday, July 3, the Gump ministry will meet in Montgomery once a month, on the first Sunday of the month. This will give the disciples there an opportunity to really focus on and build their ministry. Pray, as they reach out to the 200,000 residents of our state capitol!
Plan to attend the City of Auburn's fireworks festivities on Monday, July 4th, starting at 6 PM at Duck Samford Football stadium. Bring a picnic dinner and blanket or chairs. The entertainment starts at 7 PM and the pyrotechnic show will begin at 9 PM. See Mike McGinniss or Mitchell Moore to coordinate meeting up with our group.
Some of our members may be going to the concert and fireworks display at the AMP, the Lake Martin Amphitheater. Tickets are $15. Talk with Antoinette Hawkins if you would like to attend this event.
On Wednesday, July 6, the Gross/Watson House Church group will meet with the Hames/McGinnis group.
Pray for those of our members who will be out of town attending the REACH conference.
Church on Sunday, July 10th will be at the AU Hotel, as usual.
The Campus and EDGE ministries will have a devotional on Friday, July 1 at Rob Burn's place. Special lessons on dating are being planned for July 15 and 22. Make sure to plan to attend!
