We often feature photos at the end of the newsletter, but today, these heart warming memories take front page. Enjoy looking at our visual record of the Troy service and our last two Auburn services. You'll see a couple of family photos, one of Misha Aldridge and her brother, and one of Isaac Dennis and his mother. We're also including a shot from our WOW (Women Of Wisdom) group meeting. And finally, we have a picture of Javier and Ines Livio on their 30th anniversary. Happy anniversary, Javier and Ines! We are grateful to Ines for taking so many of the photographs that we put in the newsletter.
This Sunday is our Lord's Supper Meal!!! Many of our campus members will be back, and we can't wait to have this fellowship together! Please be sure to bring a serving spoon and enough food for a crowd.
Congratulations to Nate Johnson, who has been accepted into a graduate program at Troy University and will be attending classes there this fall. Nate is a long time member of the ATCC. He was converted in the Tuskegee University ministry, and opted to stay in Auburn and hang with the singles after he graduated a couple of years ago.
Nate will be studying sports management. His goal is to have a career in the front office for a MLB or NFL franchise, to build connections with peers in his field, and to be used by God in his vocation.
Nate felt led to apply to Troy, and likes that it is not too far from Auburn. We like that too! He will still be worshiping with ATCC house churches -- with the Wiregrass group most Sundays, and with the Gump group when they meet in Montgomery.
"I honestly would love to encourage both ministries," said Nate, "And hopefully, by the time I leave Troy, I will see a ministry started here."
Nate feels like God is teaching him patience. "I wish I was able to be in a grad program one year ago at this time," he said. "That was my plan. God helped me to learn a lot about myself over the past year. He also showed me opportunities that I never considered previously but now could be helpful."
And Troy is proving to be a great opportunity. "I really love it," Nate said. "Troy is a nice college town. It's very diverse. The atmosphere is positive. I'm really excited to see what the university will provide for me over the course of the present and future."
