"While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, 'Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.' So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off." Acts 13:2-3
As a part of our fall campaign, "The Revolution That Changed the World," based on the Book of Acts, the ATCC will be doing a congregational fast from 7 PM Thursday, October 27 to 7 PM Friday, October 28.
During this fast, we will pray for dreams for our church, and for specific ways we would like our house churches to grow. We will pray to know and to follow God's will.
Then we will gather with friends to break our fast. Contact your house church leader if you would like information on groups breaking their fasts together.
It has been so inspiring to read of the powerful way the Spirit moved in the early church. Let's all pray for the Spirit to move powerfully in our church as well!
Congrats, Dr. Moore!
Mitchell, with his wife, Lorena, at a luau dinner celebrating his Ph.D.
On Wednesday, October 26, Mitchell Moore successfully defended his dissertation and now holds a Ph.D. in civil engineering! We are so proud of Mitchell, who came to Auburn 6 years ago to earn his master's degree in geology, and then went on to work on his doctorate. Mitchell has been hired by the department of defense and will work in Oahu, Hawaii.
There will be a farewell picnic for Mitchell Moore, Lorena Moore and Chris Lucy Sunday after church. BRING A SACK LUNCH!
The time is here! The Decades Party will be this Saturday, October 29 at 7 PM at the Watson's neighborhood club house on Grove Hill Dr.
Get your outfit together! Wear something that reflects the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s or 90s.
The Decades Party will include an oldies sing along (e.g. Michael Jackson, Elvis and Old Time Rock and Roll), games like the limbo and hoola-hooping, and, of course, dancing!! There will be a board game area for those who prefer quieter pursuits to dancing.
Admission to the party is $5.
Friendships were made. Laughter was shared. HOPE members showed up in force to play Bible Trivia with the elderly residents of Monarch Estates this past Sunday. HOPE will continue serving there on Sundays at 2 PM. Contact your house church leader to sign up to come, or talk to Mike McGinnis.
