Celebrating Blessings
Our Resurrection Sunday was a time to be with our brothers and sisters, and celebrate the Lord, and all that he has done. God gave us a gorgeous day for our outdoor service at the AU North Pavilion.  We enjoyed a communion message from Julio Delgado, and a lesson on from Graham Baskin.  We picnicked and played together.  Surely the day was a little bit of heaven on earth!

We will have another opportunity to celebrate and enjoy an outdoor service at the North Pavilion on Sunday, April 29.  This will be our end of the school year fellowship, and will feature a cookout!

Getting to Know Gloria
As promised, this newsletter will tell the story of Gloria McKnight, who was baptized on March 26 in Montgomery. Gloria is employed with the Veterans Health Care System. She is from South Carolina, and served in the Army for 23 years.  She served three tours in Iraq.

Gloria formed a close friendship with her first sergeant, Kimberly McGhany-Reed, who is a disciple. The women remained friends after Gloria retired from active duty.  Last year Gloria told Kimberly that she wanted to study the Bible, so they started reading the Bible together. Then Gloria moved from South Carolina to Montgomery, but that didn't stop the studies.  The women kept looking at the scriptures via Skype.

Gloria came to the point where she wanted to get baptized. In looking to connect her with disciples, Kimberly discovered that there were members of the ATCC living in Montgomery.  The Montgomery sisters were excited to get to know Gloria and participate in her studies and baptism.

"Gloria brings so much joy to the group," said Ketera Wright.  "I'm inspired by her vulnerability and determination to please the Lord."

Gloria is amazed at the ways God has worked.  "God is awesome," she said.  "So many things that have happened in my life.  When I came back from Iraq, I had a seizure. I could have been driving, but happened to go in store and had it in the store.  I know it was God.  I could have been in the car and been killed, or killed someone.  I've been to Iraq three times.  I have friends that were killed and injured, but I was saved.  I'm really blessed."
