Lauren Owens was baptized on Sunday, April 24. Lauren, 22, is married to Albert Owens. They live in Auburn and have a one year old son, Ian. Lauren was given an invitation to the Auburn Tuskegee Christian church when some disciples were out door knocking in the fall. She saved the invitation, and at the new year, called the phone number on it to say she wanted to start coming to church.
Lauren studied the Bible for several months, and persevered through some intense personal trials. She is overjoyed to become a disciple, and expresses her profound gratitude for all God has done for her, “They thought that I could be broken but I’m not. I’m healed. I’m saved. God has picked up the pieces and put them back together. The Lord has blessed me with an insight of my future, and I won’t stop until I have it. I’ll keep expanding and growing.”
Generosity Sunday will be May 22. This year, the window of contributing to Generosity Sunday will remain open until June 5th to accommodate those who are paid intermittently. We have sought advice, and are giving careful thought and prayer to determine the best ways we can serve God through this contribution. A presentation to the congregation will be coming soon.
Members of the Alabama chapter of HOPE worldwide had a great time volunteering at an Autism Awareness event this past Saturday at Town Creek Park.
