This past Saturday, a group of ATCC members went out to Alabama State University and held their first Bible talk on campus. Alabama State University (ASU) is a historically black university located in Montgomery.
The ATCC members had a good time inviting the students at ASU, and reported that they were well received. "I enjoyed sharing my faith with my brothers and sisters," said TU student Brielle Bryant-Erales. "A lot of the people we reached out to were amazed that people from Auburn and Tuskegee came out to help their campus!
"The response we got from the students on campus was very fortifying, said Courtland Brown, a junior at Tuskegee. "They were asking if we would do it every week."
"Alabama State was great!" agreed Alicia Snuggs, who helps with the campus ministry. "We were inspired by how many people were interested in attending. Our first Bible talk had three visitors. Although for now we are only planning to host Bible talks on that campus once a month, we see so much promise."
The new Bible talk is a reflection of the group's excitement and heart to grow. "The ASU trip was a great time for us to get outside our boundaries and reach out in places we've never shared before," said Auburn campus leader Rob Burns.
After the Bible talk the group went over to Ernest and Paulette Lawson's house and enjoyed a great home cooked feast.
