Consider a Hardcover Book as a Gift

With Christmas shopping season almost upon us, you might be wondering what to get for a reader. Books, of course! And books that feel like valuable gifts are the best option, which makes hardcover books a great choice.

Nearly all of my novels are available in hardcover, including the new one for middle graders, Wanted: A Superhero to Save the World.

On my shopping site, all you have to do is click on the "Hard Cover Option" checkbox. It will cost an extra $5 for each hardcover book, which is a good value considering that it makes the book last years longer.

Where do you find that option? Check this link to see an example - http://www.theauthorschair.com/shopping/product/wanted-superhero-to-save-the-world/

If you are browsing my shopping site and see a page showing a list of books, click on a book cover image to see the hard cover option along with other purchasing options. If you instead merely click on "Add to Cart," you won't see the options. See the illustration below:

Amazing Review of Final Two Reapers Books

Authors like getting good reviews, but every once in a while I see a review that truly shines and makes me feel fulfilled as an author.

A recent review by Tracey Dyck of two of my Reapers books did just that. Check out these three quotes:

"The Reapers Trilogy shows Bryan Davis is at the top of his game."

"And after all the cliff-hangers and suspense, the ending of Reaper Reborn was positively perfect. There are huge consequences to everyone's actions, but there is also enough happiness and satisfaction that by the time I reached the final page, I was content. (Unlike many YA dystopian novels that seem to favor bleak endings . . .)"

"I know reviews should be balanced, and I should mention any quibbles I had with these books . . . but there were none. This reading experience was full of the heart, courage, mystery, faith, well-rounded characters, and tight plotting I've come to expect from Bryan Davis."

Update on My Current Project

I have been writing a novel that is tentatively entitled Search for the Astral Dragon. I originally planned for it to be a middle-grade story, but the complexity, themes, and situations turned it into a young adult story.

I am in the midst of the final conflict scene. This is the most unusual final conflict I have ever written. It is difficult to write but lots of fun as well.

It currently stands at about 122,500 words, which is slightly longer than Circles of Seven, and I think when it's finished, it will be around 135,000 words. I hope to finish the rough draft in the next few weeks. Then I will work on editing it for a couple of months.
Testimony Time:

I started reading your Dragons series when I was in high school. I was a very lonely teen who was missing God but couldn’t figure out how to find Him again. Bonnie and Sapphira gave me such good role models. I found the best of myself in them and something to strive for. Billy and Elam gave me good models for a Godly partner, and I found mine. I initially borrowed from a friend the first 8 books and am slowly trying to collect my own copies.

Thank you so much, Mr. Davis, for giving me such good models of Godly character. Thank you for showing me what Godly authority looks like and how to humbly submit to it.
