New Book Release

The Scent of Her Soul is a novel for adults. The story includes sex-trafficking, a scene of brutality, and a smattering of profanity.

Although the content is relatively tame compared to what is readily available elsewhere, as an author of several series for youth, my concern is that this novel might fall into the hands of readers for whom the content is not appropriate.

Therefore, I am publishing this book under B. Allen Davis instead of Bryan Davis. Perhaps this change will be enough to eliminate The Scent of Her Soul from searches for my other books.

I shifted my normal genre and audience hoping that this story will raise awareness of the evils of sex trafficking, inspire people to help those trapped in its clutches, and give aid to those who are out on the streets trying to make a positive difference.

Here is an early review:

The Scent of Her Soul evoked so many strong emotions. I found my self crying for the girls, furious with the traffickers, and my heart actually raced during the chases and close calls.

All of Bryan Davis books contain vivid imagery, and he makes the unimaginable seem so real. I find myself living out his stories page by page.

Author News

Since Wanted: A Superhero to Save the World has been selling so well, I decided to make it into a series. I plan to write the second book during the summer. I have no working title yet.

My agent is shopping Search for the Astral Dragon and Let the Ghosts Speak to potential publishers. I am praying for the right publisher to pick it up.

I will soon order reprints of Raising Dragons and The Candlestone. In preparation, I am going through the novels and improving the presentation. The stories will stay the same with one minor exception, which I plan to explain later.
Testimony Time:

I just finished reading ‘The Bones of Makaidos’, and I can honestly say that you are one of the most talented authors I’ve ever read. Not only that, but you are one of the few authors that write such beautiful and exciting things without getting too explicit and too over-the-top. Especially in today’s world, I really value that.

I also wanted to thank you, though, because the scene in the book where Bonnie was lit on fire kind of as a ‘test’, it got me thinking as well. Like to say, if I were set on fire to test my worth, what would happen?

I really self-examined myself and prayed, and now I can say that I am changed. It’s been such a great wake-up call- to be more true to myself, others, and to God, and I just wanted to thank you for writing something that caused me to do that. It takes a lot to move me, and you have done it. I hope you continue to write things that could change other lives as well! May God bless you and your family!!
