A Note from Servant’s Table:

As you all know, one of the main components of Servant’s Table mission is using most of our offering to help others. In doing that, ST has always set aside some money for personal emergency situations. Like this one.  Servant’s Table is offering up to six $50 Walmart cards for those that are struggling during the government shutdown. If someone in your congregation is a federal worker or someone that you know personally is a federal worker and struggling to make ends meet, please let us know.

We are counting on you all to help us vet the people that actually need the cards. We are NOT using some sort of qualification application or anything. We just want to quickly help folks right now because we know this is tough for a lot of families.

If you would like to donate money to give out more cards, should the need arise, let us know!! We’d love to find more people to give out cards to! Contact Laura Bunch or Servant’s Table at:
information@servantstablechurch.com
Check out the
Fund It or Fix It tree
in the Commons!
If you have the means, please take a heart to help out with needs around our building.
The Rev. Dr. Robert (Bob) Studtmann retired Arkansas-Oklahoma Synod Bishop who served several Tulsa area congregations as an interim pastor will be celebrating his 90th birthday on February 12, 2019. His family would like to invite you to send cards to his mailing address:

Peggy’s Ponderings
TW: Suicide

And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes, there shall be no more death, nor sorrow, nor crying, there shall be no more pain, for the former things have passed away. - Rev. 21:4

We all know what pain is. As children we have stubbed our toes, got splinters, fell off our bikes or fell and scraped our knees and elbows. Our mom would clean the wounds, put on medicine, then a bandage and off we would go. As we got older we found there were other types of pain, the pain of losing a loved one - your spouse, a  child or parent, a friend or a relative. Then there is another pain, a pain to your heart and I don’t mean a heart attack. A pain so deep from someone you trust with your spiritual life. You feel the pain of betrayal. Your pain is so deep that you give up on God and life. You can’t trust any more and feel you can’t go on. You want to go to sleep and never wake up, so you take a handful of pills and go to sleep so you never have to cry or feel pain again. But God has plans for you, God sends someone to save your life. Maybe you gave up on life but God hasn’t given up on you. God led me here. God took away my pain, my anger, and so much more. So never give up on God. Sometimes God works in mysterious ways, I certainly found that out. “Look up, never down.” God bless you all.
