Peggy’s Ponderings
 "Who is God to You"

I think if we all set at down and wrote who God is to us, we would all say something different. I am reading a book right now that is how some people see God in different ways. It got me thinking about the different images I have had through the years. When I was very young I thought every time they had an altar call I would go down to the altar and repent. I was told if I didn’t, if anything happened to me, I would goes straight to hell. I never thought I was bad but I wouldn’t take a chance. As I look back now, they scared the hell out of me. As I got older and saw different ministers come and go, we were taught if we made fun of anyone who had a physical ailment, God would eventually curse us with their ailment. How gullible can we get? As I got a lot older, I just accepted the fact that God just tolerated me. If nothing went right then God just turned God’s back on us. I was being punished but I never understood why. But praise God, I know the truth now. It’s been a rocky uphill climb. But with a lot of help and love, I finally found the way. I am not perfect but are any of us? As long as we put God first in our lives that is what is important. I always thought I had to be worthy to even take communion. But I continually put God first, love everyone, and live the best I can. Thank you, Lord!
