Service Opportunity with Servant’s Table
TONIGHT

Servant’s Table is providing a free community dinner on Monday, February 18 at Grace United Methodist Church in west Tulsa and we have an opportunity to walk in service with them! They are making sloppy joes, tater tots, green beans, and dessert. We would help cook, serve, and eat with the folks that come for the meal and then have clean up time after.

Dinner starts at 5:30 but we would need to arrive around 4:00pm to get the food ready and warmed up.

If you would like to participate, please contact Sara Brightwell at 918-698-1873 or sign up on the sheet that will be available in the Commons.

If you would like to help out but can’t participate, you can donate monetarily to help with the costs of the food! Please just make your check out to First and in the memo section put Grace Dinner and the church will get the donations to Servant’s Table.
WANTED: Nominating Committee. We will be electing for our Bridging Out and Vice President positions at the May congregational meeting. Please contact the church office if you would like to be part of the search for our nominees.

What is REFIT ®?
REFIT® is a life-changing group fitness experience that rocks your body, heart, and soul with powerful moves and positive music, to inspire you from the inside out. Powered by human connections, we turn boring “have-to” workouts into a “can’t-miss” community fitness experience. REFIT® classes propel students to be their best selves though dance, toning, balance & flexibility, modifying moves as needed for your body. Workouts are designed for everybody and every body – regardless of age, shape size or ability.

What makes REFIT® different from _________ (insert what you have heard of here)?
REFIT® is different because the fitness experience centers around helping people change from the inside. This is evident in the positive messaging in the music we use, time at the end of each class for inspiration and encouragement, and a high value placed on connecting people with each other.
Music may include (but is not limited to) top-40 radio (with clean lyrics) including Meghan Trainor, Janet Jackson, Pitbull, Justin Timberlake; popular Christian artists, including Mandisa, TobyMac, MercyMe, and SO much more.

Want to experience a class?
Join First Lutheran’s very own Certified REFIT® instructors Mary Jane Halley & Lisa Ohlde on Tuesday, February 26, 6:30pm in Fellowship Hall for a 1 hour demo class. Wear comfy clothes & shoes that support your feet, bring water!

Peggy’s Ponderings

God, fill me with your Spirit and help me to value the worth of each person, for Jesus’ sake. Amen.

This prayer I think needs to be prayed every day. I know I mentioned the Holy Spirit a lot but there are times I feel the Holy Spirit and it’s what keeps me going through rough times. I know I am going through a few things right now but I look around me and I see what is going on and I feel lucky. When I see the homeless com in off the street, they are made to feel welcome. All the other churches I attended they were asked to leave. But there are people who feel lost and alone, people who have given up on life and feel the only way out is suicide. Until you are in their shoes, no one understand and they ask themselves, “Why would anyone do that?” I could tell you but it would take too long. But I can tell you this, someone has to get to them and say, “There is something for you but you have to open up your heart and believe it.” When I came here, I didn’t believe anyone cared. We have to open our hearts and say, “Praise God.” You can find hope and love here, I can certainly testify to that. Every soul is important no matter who they are. Amen.
