It is hard to believe Christmas is almost here. I was thinking about a time in the past when I refused to put up a tree. I lost four people I loved very much on December 22nd, 23rd, 25th, and 26th. After my granddaughter was born, I finally started to put one up. This year I haven’t put one up. My granddaughter is twenty and has a new life. I haven’t had any money to buy presents to put under the tree. But my granddaughter has hugged me and said, “It’s okay, grandma, we have you.; that’s more important.” I have to say, I have great grandkids. And Christmas isn’t all about presents. I wish I could buy them presents but they also know what Christmas is all about. They love me and I love them. I have another new family here at First Lutheran that I can celebrate with. So, from my heart, I want to wish you all a very Merry Christmas!
