Habit or Addiction
We all have habits and as we all know they can be annoying. Sometimes those around us notice, clicking your nails, popping your knuckles or you just can’t sit still. Habits are very hard to break. There are also habits that are dangerous to yourself and others. Habits that break up marriages, cause death to you and others. We see it every day. Thinks like drinking and drugs. I hear people say,” Just one time won’t hurt. I can control it.” So we make a habit of taking a drink or pill when we come home from work to relax or when we can’t sleep. After awhile you need two, then three. Now your habit becomes an addiction. We see it all around us. We see it every Sunday when the homeless pop in. There could be one sitting right next to you. How many of you that first met me knew I am an alcoholic? When I am stressed out, I really want a drink to relax but I know, if I do, it will lead to another one. We do our best to reach out to those to try and help them but they also have to want to help themselves. Please just keep lifting them up in your prayers. God doesn’t give up on us, so we can’t give up on them. AMEN!
