Peggy’s Ponderings
Willingness & Forgiveness

These two words were discussed in our AA meeting. They are very important words. After coming here the words were ones I struggled with. It was hard for me to forgive all who abused me. I had to forgive and be willing to do it. But I asked myself why should I? I was abused, lied about, they tried to control me and, worst of all, it took God away from me. God was still there but I couldn’t trust God. It took me over a year to forgive all but one minister. When I would think of him I would feel rage inside. I kept saying I forgave him but in my heart I knew I hadn’t. I will never know why he did to me what he did but I can accept it now. That is between him and God. A few friends finally showed me that I was letting him still control me. I had to truly give it to God and not take it back. We have to be willing to forgive and turn it over to God. Anger and non-forgiveness will eat you alive if your not careful. It almost cost me my life and soul. Please don’t let anger and non-forgiveness control you. Give it to God and don’t take it back. Thank you and God bless!
