Friday, January 4, 7 PM  The Real Ingredients and A Brighter Bloom

Blissfest Folk and Roots Mini-Concert Series

The Real Ingredients
are a mostly acoustic duo from Petoskey, who have been playing music together since their middle school years. Bringing different musical tastes together,  Sean Miller and Traven Lawrence Michaels mix genres that include folk, rock, and funk with a singer/songwriter charm and a dash of humor.   The duo, in just two short years, have now played throughout Michigan from south of Grand Rapids to Mackinaw and everywhere in between. They have also been named "one of the hardest working bands in Michigan" by the Northern Express.

A Brighter Bloom is the culmination of many years of music by Todd AldrichLauren Onica and TJ Rankin. Lauren and Todd started creating together in 2014 after meeting at a local open mic. TJ joined on shortly after and rounded out the sound with his distinct playing style and added rhythm with bass guitar. Writing music together came easily and the three released their first collection of music in 2017 with a self-titled EP.  With a new collection of songs set to release in 2019, A Brighter Bloom continues to play all areas of their home state of Michigan while keeping their roots firmly planted in the North.

Tickets:  $10 in advance at the Northern Michigan Artists Market, (231) 487-0000 or online at My North Tickets (click the Buy Tickets Now link). Tickets are available at the door the night of the show for $15.

Saturday, January 19, 7 PM  Indigo Moon

Blissfest Folk and Roots Mini-Concert Series

Indigo Moon, (Jeff Lange and Lee Anne Whitman) a Northern Michigan acoustic folk duo, brings guitars and harmonic voices (with a touch of harmonica, ukulele, and cajone), to entertain with nature, history, and literature-inspired original pieces, a mix of traditional folk music, and other familiar songs. They love nature, from the tiny mayfly to the vast universe, create songs from their favorite books, and bring this love and fascination into the lines of their music.

Indigo Moon's music ranges from dreamily soothing, light and airy, folksy to flat out toe-tapping, but stopping just short of foot-stomping. Since their songs spring from personal experiences and genuine natural phenomena, many musical pieces begin with an introduction, not so much to explain the song, but to set the scene.

Tickets:  $10 in advance at the Northern Michigan Artists Market, (231) 487-0000 or online at My North Tickets (click the Buy Tickets Now link). Tickets are available at the door the night of the show for $15.
