October 2016
Volume 62

Dear EASA Members and Friends,

We had a successful convention in Marseille, France from the 29th of September to the 1st of Octobre of 2016 with 70 participants from 43 companies and 20 different countries and 50% of them were new participants. EASA is growing in our region and offering more benefits to its members.

The General Feedback :

  • Technical and general feedback was very good.
  • Titos Anastassacos, our main Speaker has given a very interesting overview about the risks and tasks we will face with new technologies (Data, Robotics, New Business Models, ...) >> means we need to work hard to defend and develop our position.
  • Very good development with EASA Partners in Europe, important to contact more partners in other countries.
  • More members want to be active in EASA with more active participants in our different committees and our council.
  • Hotel was not so good for the ones who were in the second floor but, for the ones who were in other floors, they were happy in general happy. Next Year we will go back to an hotel category with higher standards.

In terms of General Business Situation:

  • Business is getting more sophisticated and complex with also new investments and revenues to support that trends (New sensors, new technologies, New Business Models..)
  • High Level of Service market Maturity.
  • Importance for our industry to work more within active associations like EASA .
  • EASA Members are better informed than their competitors, this is an advantage.
  • Everybody can choose if he wants to be a leader or a follower. If you want to be a leader in your region you need to perform better than your competitors. Let EASA help you!

Special thanks to Jim Smith, Chairman of the Board of EASA International and Jeanne Smith, his spouse for attending our great convention. We have really enjoyed to see them in Marseille and take benefits of their active input,

Best Regards,

Mathis Menzel, President, EASA European & World Chapter
