Classroom Climate Series Engages UBC with Aboriginal Topics

As part of the yearlong Classroom Climate series, CTLT Aboriginal Initiatives hosted three workshops in fall 2015. Faculty, TAs, researchers, students, and staff were invited to critically engage in topics related to Aboriginal issues and think about how they could be explored within and beyond the classroom.

Students Crack Data at Learning Analytics Hackathon

In October 2015 the Learning Analytics Visual Analytics group held the first ever learning analytics hackathon at UBC. During the two-day event, more than 70 participants with a wide range of backgrounds and expertise applied a variety of approaches to analyzing learning-related data.

Registration Open for Winter Institute

Hosted from December 7 to December 11, the 2015 CTLT Winter Institute is a time for colleagues to come together and review innovative teaching practices. Workshops will focus on sharing new teaching approaches and provide an opportunity to network. All events are free and take place in the Irving K. Barber Learning Centre.

Next T-BLE Course to Start in January

The application period for the Winter 2016 T-BLE Cohort is now open. T-BLE is a short, immersive blended course aimed at instructors who are already teaching in the classroom and are considering moving to a blended environment. The course runs for six weeks and is delivered in a combination of online and face-to-face sessions.
