Start 2020 with Strawberry Vision
CakePHP 4 Strawberry has recently been released

What's CakePHP without another cake variety? CakePHP Strawberry has taste buds watering - with upped performance, some shiny new features and a new development flavor, we're excited to chat about the recent release.

Baking has been upgraded, and while there has been a lot of code deprecation, the following shiny new tools and long-awaited updates are something to talk about.

  • PHP 7.2 is now required - let's talk about modern!
  • Steamlined APIs
  • A refreshed application skeleton
  • Typehints that will help you spot errors faster
  • Better error messages - Let the debugging begin!
  • Our ORM now has full support for datetime with microseconds

The team has also put CakePHP Strawberry to the test, running benchmarks and assessing performance. Here are the results on TechEmpower. We think it's safe to say that the team should be proud!

CakePHP 4.0.1 has also been released - check out the bakery release notes for more!
