April's exhibition at the Backspace, "Retrospect" takes a look at Sheyne's works on paper and paintings from the last five years.

Sheyne Tuffery is a Wellington based multi-media visual artist whose primary mediums are painting, animation and printmaking. Well known for the dynamic style of his prints and woodcuts, Sheyne describes himself as "a paper architect who uses his work to create and represent his own cultural context and sense of belonging."
An expert printmaker, he exhibits widely, and has lead many public art projects. Wellingtonians may be familiar with his recent mural in Mt Cook, celebrating the area's chequered military and penal history.
Sheyne will be taking a two day block printing workshop in the gallery space Sat 11 and Sun 12 April, and at the end students can choose one of their prints to hang in gallery alongside his Click here for full details.
