  • Locate Request - When reading your locate request, please read it in  it's entirety. The preferred number to dial first when contacting the excavator, if provided, is the Alternate number listed to the right of the Contact information. It will show as Alt: underneath the Phone: which is generally the office number.                                       We need accurate driving directions from the nearest intersection to the dig site with mileage.
  • Surveys - New to the MS 811 website are two surveys, one for Member Utilities & the other for Excavators (CSR Survey). Please take the time to provide us feedback on our services, the survey takes less than 5 minutes to complete. For more information: Click Here for Member & Click Here for excavators.
  • Damage Prevention Enforcement -In June the Underground Facilities Damage Prevention Board (UFDPB) asked for and received comments regarding the Rules by which it was to operate within, as required by the Secretary of State.  One of those “rules” required the establishment of rules and limits for “Routine Maintenance” within Public Rights of Way by those who are authorized to work there.                          The rule regarding work within the public right of way has been amended and resubmitted for public comment. Comments are due by August 22 at 9 am thus ending the 25 day comment period of this rewrite.  Click here for additional information on the changes made by the Board.
