Dear friend,

There is a special item on the ballot this November I wanted to highlight for you. I'm asking you to consider voting NO on Prop A (City of Austin voters), as I think it sets a dangerous precedent in how we do the basic budgets for the City of Austin.

If passed, Prop A would force the City of Austin to cut essential services - like parks, libraries, and emergency services - in order to spend hundreds of millions more solely on the police department, with zero accountability.

Moreover, creating an arbitrary metric for police staffing is not an effective way to improve public safety.

Polling locations are open from 7am-7pm Monday through Saturday and
12-6pm on Sunday. Remember, this is the only weekend available to vote early in the November election -- Early Voting ends next Friday and Election Day is Tuesday, November 2nd.
  • Check out Travis County polling locations here, and
  • Go to for information on voter ID requirements and FAQs.
Elections in odd-numbered years tend to have significantly lower voter turnout than midterms and presidential elections. You can help by voting, and then making sure everyone you know heads to the polls to vote NO on Prop A.
