We also partnered with a team of MBA students from the Haas business school to develop a sustainability plan. The Essig, like many other departments across campus, continues to face budget cuts. Our team identified key areas for partnerships and funding opportunities, but also how important it is to connect with you to continue developing programs that serve our community.
Please consider donating to the Essig during Big Give on Thursday, March 12
Your gift helps the Essig:
- Present public events like Cal Day which is just a few weeks away (April 18)
- Digitize and georeference specimens to better understand the impacts of land use and climate change.
- Support opportunities for undergraduate and graduate research in areas like conservation, ecology, behavior, and evolution.
Entomology at UC Berkeley pioneered many disciplines like Medical Entomology, Biological Control, and Integrated Pest Management. Our students continue to advance our understanding of insects and spiders using cutting edge tools in molecular biology, community ecology, and data science.
Your donation helps the Essig Museum forge the future of entomology while preserving its history. Thank you for your support!
Sincerely,

Peter T. Oboyski
Executive Director
Essig Museum of Entomology
P.S. You can be part of our history through our Adopt-A-Drawer program!
