Dear Sisters, Associates and Sojourners,
The situation of our political leaders, I suggest, is devastating to those whose lives around the world will be negatively impacted by our President's Administration budget and Congress' lack of courage and principles. It is a LENTEN time.
It seems so many are thirsting for living water and many seek a healing so they can see and act clearly in faith. The ecumenical and interfaith social justice organizations will continue to lobby and educate: We must be strong and focused.
The actions of Congress lead us deeper into prayer, with faith and hope that all may feel the mercy, justice and love of our God and our policies. We must stay resilient and vigilant and engaged.
So our advocacy remains: Call and write your Congressional leaders, both in your state and in Capital, to voice your opposition to the AHCA, the President's increase funding for the military-industrial complex, for reversing environmental protections, for approving the KEYSTONE pipeline, for moving forward with detentions and deportations and limits/bans on refugees and for his many trips to Mar-a-lago at tax payers expenses! The addresses and phone numbers are here and here. And, there are resources at our JPIC page, but, if you need anything write or call me!
Please, pray and do what you can! One prayer, one call, one letter, is one way we can stand in solidarity with our "dear neighbor."
Blessings,
Sara
