Dear Proud Lilywhites
The committee met by conference call on 4 November 2016. The full minutes are attached here and a summary of the key points is below.
We had a successful meeting with THFC Executive Director Donna-Maria Cullen on 26 October covering a number of topics for the year ahead including the forthcoming Stonewall rainbow laces campaign, Football v Homophobia (FvH) month of action, away games and ticketing, fan education and stewards’ training.
We’re planning to deliver our awareness training package to a further group of stewards and are aiming to expand this training to include THFC retail, catering and janitorial staff.
The Rainbow Laces game involving Spurs will be Chelsea v Tottenham on 26 November. We’re liaising with the Chelsea LGBT fan group to see how high a profile we can give to the campaign activity on the day. The Chelsea LGBT group have invited us to join them before the game to be part of their 'soft launch' so please let us know by replying to this email if you would like to join them for this. Players will be given the option of wearing the laces and this year the Premier league will be sending out the packs rather than the sponsors, which may mean more players will wear the laces.
We’re planning to hold a Christmas social during the week commencing 12 December, preceded by a short committee meeting. More details to follow!
We discussed the match day meet ups, which seem to be going well this season. We’ll continue to publicise these on Facebook and hope that those attending will also spread the word and encourage others to come along.
We’ll be pressing ahead with our second Proud Lilywhites merchandise campaign before Christmas and will send out more details when the campaign is launched.
We have been approached by a media company who want to meet us before the West Ham game with a view to making our long-planned promotional film. We’ll promote this meet-up on Facebook once we have the details.
