We are currently seeking people’s views to inform the development of Music in dlr. If you are involved as a professional or amateur musician, a member of a local choir or band, have begun learning a musical instrument or have been practising for decades we would like to hear from you.

Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival 

22 - 26 March 2017
Various locations in Dún Laoghaire

Tickets are now on sale for all events at Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival.
 
We have a host of fantastic events including authors John Boyne, Chris Cleave and John Banville as well as events focused on politics, history and music. Poetry lovers are well catered for with Michael Longley, Paula Meehan and Nick Laird among the many poets appearing. And as always the Family & Schools programme offers events for all ages and this year includes a legend of children’s books, Judith Kerr (The Tiger Who Came to Tea).
 
We also have a few pre-festival events to whet your appetite:
Mohsin Hamid (author of The Reluctant Fundamentalist) on 28 Feb George Saunders (author of Lincoln in the Bardo)on 13 March

Swap Saturday

Bored with your wardrobe? Interested in living sustainably and ethically whilst looking amazing? 

As part of the Learning Programme for the current exhibitions Nu Ethical will be taking over the Project Room this Saturday with their public swapping wardrobe.

Repair, recycle and up-cycle. The team from Nu Ethical will be on hand providing practical and creative ideas to give your clothes a second life.

So bring along your secondhand clothes and Swap and Shop til you drop!

Free workshop for Children

Saturday 4 March, 11am-4pm,
dlr LexIcon Municipal Gallery 

 
As part of this Saturday’s Swap Clothes day, artist Eleanor Lawlor will be in the Gallery creating exciting performances and stories using fabrics, clothes and other materials!
 
Suitable for children of all ages, no booking required, just come along.

Reminder for Grainstore Manager

Deadline is 5pm on Wednesday, 1 March 2017.

Southside Partnership DLR CLG, supported by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, is looking for a manager for the Grainstore, dlr’s Youth Arts Facility. 

The successful candidate must have initiative, be a self-starter and a good team player. They will have the ability to manage the day-to-day administration, operations and income generation needs of the Grainstore, and the creative knowledge to develop and programme for the Centre’s Youth Arts Development strand.
