Musical director Jonathan Reynolds invited 6 local young people with intellectual disabilities from St John of Gods Services to create music and lyrics based on interesting sounds that inspire them. They have worked together for 6 months.
The group will perform their original compositions live using a selection of electronic instruments under the supervision and guidance of Jonathan and guest musician Marc Aubele. Not to be missed!
Inspired by Sound is a Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Youth Arts & Disability Commission.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office invites applications for Musicians in Residence.
There will be two residencies offered in 2017. They are envisaged as part-time residencies specifically for the development, creation and showcasing of new work. The Arts Office is open to applications from individuals or groups and applications are invited from musicians working in all musical genres and at all career stages.
The Musicians in Residence scheme is managed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office and is grant-aided by the Arts Council.

Call for Writer in Residence June 2017 – May 2018

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites applications for a writer in residence for the period June 2017 to May 2018.
The residency is open to writers working in script-writing in any form (e.g. writing for stage, TV or film). The theme this year is Ireland: The Future. The writer’s work may draw inspiration from this theme in a variety of ways. The residency is envisaged as a part-time residency which will allow time for the writer’s own work in addition to engagement and interaction with both the general public and, more specifically, with those with an interest in writing themselves.
Applicants must live in, work in, be originally from or have studied a relevant discipline in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown.
This writer in residence is managed by Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office and is grant-aided by the Arts Council.

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council welcomes applications for the Arts Access Grants Round 2.
Arts Access grants are available to provide financial assistance to targeted areas of the community in need of greater opportunities for artistic expression.
This grant is only open to Youth Service Providers in this round of funding.

Final Reminder dlr First Frames: Opportunities for Emerging Filmakers

dlr First Frames scheme aims to provide funding and support to emerging filmmakers looking to develop ambitious and creative short films based in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) region. The scheme is fully funded by dlr Arts Office and dlr Local Enterprise Office, and managed by Filmbase, with additional support from the National Film School, IADT.
Filmbase will run an optional application clinic for prospective applicants on Tuesday 18 April at 7.00pm.
