Come and explore dlr LexIcon for Culture Night when we’ll be open until 9pm with lots on for all ages.
The exhibition ‘Lines of Negotiation’ curated by Claire Behan and a group of local people will be open all evening in the Municipal Gallery. A special Culture Night programme of music will take place in the Gallery too. Join artist Áine Crowley to experience printmaking and create a print to take home - pop in to the Project Room beside the Gallery and experiment. Fiona Dowling, dlr Storyteller in Residence and some guests have a special evening of Story Naps in the Studio where you can relax and listen to stories. Falling asleep is allowed and there is no age limit to enjoy this!

Katherine is performing this special off-site event in Ballychorus Lead Mines Way, Glencullen.
She will be playing her violin responding directly to the landscape and her audience.
This performance is part of the upcoming exhibition 'Lines of Negotiation' in the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon, Dún Laoghaire.

We have a jam packed Gallery Learning Programme for Lines of Negotiation: Mapping the Land this coming September and October.
There will be lots of workshops for both adults and children, tours and talks in dlr LexIcon.
We are delighted that the Dublin Mountains Partnership have tailored some walks to coincide with the exhibition programme.

Deadline: Roger Casement Memorial Commission

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites expressions of interest from artists for the creation of a major new artwork to commemorate the life of Roger Casement to be situated in the newly developed Dún Laoghaire Baths area. The commissioners are seeking a representational sculpture of Casement.
The total budget available for the artwork is up to €120,000. Visual Artists Ireland is managing the competition on behalf of dlr.
This is a two-stage commission process.

Would you like advice on how to write a strong arts grant application? This session will give tips from the experts and will focus on the do’s and don’ts of writing a grant application.
Guest speakers on the night: Kenneth Redmond, dlr Arts Officer; David Parnell, The Arts Council; Aideen Barry, Visual Artist; Rowena Neville, Arts Consultant.

Visual Art Commission – Gallery Visit

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council wishes to commission two visual artists to create a new body of work which will culminate in an exhibition (by each artist) in the Municipal Gallery, dlr LexIcon.
The Arts Office will host a site visit in the Gallery on Thursday 22nd of September at 6.30pm to introduce the space and answer any specific questions. To book a place for this, please email Carolyn Brown at cbrown@dlrcoco.ie

Presented by dlr Mill Theatre, HOME is a colourful and contemporary collection of prints created by Julie & Owen of Jando Design and is an exploration of their love and deep appreciation for Dublin, the city which has been their home for the last 16 years.
Each piece in the collection reflects the vibrant and diverse landscape of life in the modern city whilst celebrating its heritage, culture and landmark architecture.
