Open House Dublin 2016 is taking place across the city from the 14-16 October.
In this workshop by architect/artist Blaithín Quinn in dlr LexIcon, children will design and make their very own 3-d creation through play, discussion and
experimentation with diverse art materials.

What's on in the Gallery this October

Lines of Negotiation currently on show is a group exhibition featuring the work of 9 artists, exploring the historical and cultural readings of the landscape and of land use.
Join the Gallery Tour on Thursday 6 October from 5.45-6.30pm by curator Claire Behan. Straight after this we have our popular Artists in Conversation talk from 7-8.30pm, this time with Claire and artists Katherine Atkinson, Patricia McKenna and Bernadette Beecher.
For younger audiences we have workshops on Saturday 8 October where they will get to create a miniature studio and ask what happens when large becomes small, the sky is red and the earth is an accordion, or is it?

Literature Commission for Blackrock
|

Writer David Butler has recently been awarded a literature commission that will focus on the Blackrock area of the county as part of the dlr Arts Office public art programme. This commission involves a collaboration between the Arts Office and the Library Service. David will be based in the area between October 2016 - May 2017. He plans to write a sequence of poems that draw inspiration from the area, and will also be engaging with various local groups through Blackrock Library.

As well as their ability to amuse or inspire wonder, stories and folktales can often hold within them little nuggets of truth or wisdom. In this one-of-a-kind interactive celebration of Wisdom Stories, we are inviting our audiences to give us a life question or dilemma from their own experience to which a panel of storytellers who will try to find a matching story.
Audience members will get a chance to submit their questions before the event.
This event is part of Fiona Dowling's 2016 dlr Storyteller in Residence Programme.
