Mountains to Sea - Tickets now on sale

Tickets are now on sale for all events at Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival.
 
The festival takes place from the 22 – 26 March throughout Dún Laoghaire. We have a host of fantastic events including authors John Boyne, Chris Cleave and John Banville as well as events focused on politics, history and music. Poetry lovers are well catered for with Michael Longley, Paula Meehan and Nick Laird among the many poets appearing. And as always the Family & Schools programme offers events for all ages and this year includes Ryan Tubridy, Judith Kerr and Eoin Colfer.

Jam packed Gallery Learning Programme this April!

Song of the Sea: The Exhibition is coming to the Gallery in dlr LexIcon on 23 March. This touring, interactive, multi-media exhibition of original drawings, storyboards, animation and music reveals what was involved in creating this Oscar© nominated film.

Celebrate the world of Cartoon Saloon with our host of activities for all the family! We’ve a special Family Fun Day on 21 April with screenings of the film and lots of workshops….

Reminder Mountains to Sea seeks new Director

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites applications for the role of Director of Mountains to Sea dlr Book Festival 2018. 

We are seeking a creative enthusiastic person with a strong arts/literary background and significant experience in programming events or festivals. Production experience is also a requirement. The Director will be responsible for creating an artistic vision for the festival and for leading the implementation of this vision.

dlr First Frames: Information Session

Monday 20 March, 6.30pm 

An information evening for dlr First Frames film commissions will take place in the Studio, dlr LexIcon on Monday 20 March for interested applicants. This is free but booking is required.

dlr First Frames scheme aims to provide funding and support to emerging filmmakers looking to develop ambitious and creative short films based in the Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown (dlr) region. 

This scheme is fully funded by dlr Arts Office and dlr Local Enterprise Office, and managed by Filmbase, with additional support from the National Film School, IADT.

Illustrators Ireland - Matters of the Heart, group show

From traditional media to digital imagery, this show is sure to get the pulse going with a wide array of work. 

Illustrators Ireland is a community of professional illustrators working together to actively promote the craft- the art form- that is Illustration. They have been providing top drawer illustration for 15 years now. Members aren’t just illustrators either – they include Offset speakers, lecturers, historians, community project leaders, Kate Greenaway Medalists, workshop facilitators, and are all illustration enthusiasts looking to spread the love of illustration.

1950’s America collides with Hamlet in this Work-in-Progress Showing which is written and performed by Roseanne Lynch. 

Martha is the star of her college synchronised swimming team. After her mother’s death, she starts to feel an affinity with the character of Ophelia – was she really mad, or was she just sad?
