Closing date for applications for Per Cent for Art Literature Commission

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council Arts Office invites applications for a literature commission as part of the dlr Public Art Programme. The closing date for applications is Friday 17 June. This commission is open to writers working in any genre, a central aim will be the creation of new work with a specific focus on Blackrock Library and broadening its visibility in the area.

Photographer Dragana Jurisic will present her project inspired by author Rebecca West’s journey from her book ‘Black Lamb and Grey Falcon’. Through a collection of beautiful colour images and text, Dragana captures her own personal experience of travelling through the former Yugoslavia.
This is a free event but booking is required

As the culmination of their dlr LexIcon residency, the Eidola Trio (Anita Vedres - baroque violin, Eamon Sweeney - baroque guitars and Malachy Robinson - viola da gamba) will give an evening concert in June. As resident artists they have been collecting music from five centuries and creating brand new works inspired by the locality. The evening’s event will have a French theme.

Free art workshop, suitable for children from 3-4 years
This specially designed explorative workshop invites children to think, move and make!
Children's thinking will be challenged through construction, colour, rhythm, motion and play.
It has been designed by Helen Barry with some help from the children in Casa Rosa preschool childcare in Dún Laoghaire.
Parents will need to be present for this workshop.
This workshop is part of the Early Years Commissions funded by the Arts Council and Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council with support from Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Childcare Committee.
