Emerging Artists Bursaries

Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council invites proposals from emerging artists for the development and creation of new work. Individual artists and arts practitioners working in all art-forms are eligible to apply. Successful recipients will receive a bursary of €1,500 for the development and creation of new work.

The closing date for applications is Thursday 24th Sept 2015 at 12 noon

There’s plenty to thrill the senses in dlr LexIcon and Grainstore this Culture Night.  Come see a visual art exhibition, watch an art film in our studio, check out some animation in our inflatable cinema, listen to some wonderful music, dress up and have your photo taken or print your very own bag all under one roof.

Catering to writers of all forms The Irish Writers Centre present a Publishing Day in dlr LexIcon on Saturday 26th September. Hear from editor Brendan Barrington (Penguin Ireland/The Dublin Review) and writer and Laureate for Irish Fiction, Anne Enright; as well as publicist Peter O'Connell and literary agents Paul and Susan Feldstein about best practice for submissions and their own experiences of the industry.

Writer in Residence - The Pale Project

The Pale Project Workshops with Selina Guinness

In a series of dedicated workshops, lectures and public events, this year’s residency will focus on dwelling and thinking in Dún Laoghaire-Rathdown. 

The Pale Project is open to all curious amateurs: young and old; temporary, new and established residents, the able-bodied and able-minded, and those who feel less so. Together, we’ll undertake a fresh approach to writing by becoming active explorers of our everyday lives.


Deadline for Receipt of Applications: Monday 21st September at 4pm

Spoken Word & Radio @ the Grainstore

Spoken Word & Radio Sessions
with writer Colm Keegan and Mick Shanahan

starting Wednesday 23rd September
6-7pm;  13- 15 year
7-8pm;  16 + years 
FREE

This will be a really interesting programme where young people will explore spoken word and how radio can be used as a forum to reach a wider audience.

Capoeira Dance Classes

Capoeira is a Brazilian art form, which combines fight, dance, rhythm, movement, acrobatic movements and music. It is great for building flexibility of the body, self-discipline and self-esteem.
