MMAMTA Newsletter

March 2015

Greetings MMAMTA Members! These cold temperatures leave us searching for warm places to go to where we can enjoy great music (just like the furry friend above). Fasten your seat belts because we are about to blast into a month chock full of music!!

Good news and bad news!

Our organization received the MMTA Matching Grant for our Fall Workshop! The sad news is that Dr. Jessica Johnson will be unable to present yet again because of her illness. I checked with MMTA and we can still use the funds with a different guest. Please start thinking about who you'd like to invite and send me your suggestions by March 16th.

Even though this organization primarily consists by pianists, I am fully aware that we have other instrumental and vocal members who might like to invite a guest. This is the time to speak up! We could potentially have two shorter workshops, or have a guest that could speak more broadly to all instruments and voice (wellness, expressivity, etc).

Thank you to everyone who participated at Musicathon in Columbia and another huge THANK YOU to Tim Werts for his efforts in coordinating Musicathon at Lucky's Market this year. So far the response from the folks I talked to has been positive. Please don't hesitate to contact me or Tim with your thoughts and feedback on how you thought the event went, and any other thoughts regarding planning for next year.
Good luck to Jeff City Musicathon this coming weekend at the Capitol Mall!

Do you have an event that you want to share with the group?

E-mail me a week before the end of the month and I will include it in the next newsletter!
