Greetings MMAMTA Members! The summer is going by so fast. I hope you have already marked your calendars for our Fall Workshop on September 12th!
August Calendar
- July 30 - August 2 (Thu-Sun), Mid-America Music Festival at the Marriott Airport St. Louis Hotel in St. Louis, Missouri.
- 9 (Sun), 4:30pm, Duo Recital by Allison Roebuck, oboe, and Peter Miyamoto, piano. Free admission; donations accepted. First Christian Church in Jefferson City.
Early September event
- September 2 (Wed), 12pm, "Piano Fantasies" presented by Karen Larvick. Solo repertoire by Mozart, Chopin, Brahms, and Dello Joio. Duets with Jan Houser (Schubert Fantasy in F minor) and Denise Gillam (Fantasy Duet, arranged by Howard Helvey, JC and MU graduate). First Presbyterian Church in Jeff City. Free admission.

Congrats to MMAMTA member Timothy Howe!
Congratulations to Dr. Timothy Howe, trombone faculty at MU and MMAMTA member, for completing his CD project "Across the Wide Missouri"! Performers on the CD also included other MMAMTA members (Alice Dade, Leo Saguiguit, and Paola Savvidou). This project has been in the works since 2011 and included commissions of new works by Missouri composers. The CD is available at CD Baby. What a wonderful accomplishment!
Tim will be presenting a recital at MU on September 20th, Sunday, at 7:30pm, featuring all-romantic concerti for the trombone.
Publicity Chair update
Melissa Loehnig will be helping out with publicity this year until the position is filled (thank you!!!). MMAMTA chairs, please send publicity information regarding the event you are chairing to both me and her one month prior to the event so we can get the word out.
Piano Day @ MU
Save the date for this year's Piano Day @ MU on Saturday, October 17th, 2015. A day of masterclasses, workshops, and recitals with MU Faculty for high-school pianists. More information coming soon!
