Update from SOS President

Dear SOS Supporters:

Some of you may have seen a legal notice recently from Apex listing lease signers or relatives who hold public office within the Town of Somerset.  The notice also includes my husband, Randall Atwater, as a school board member of Barker Central School, and states that he "has conveyed property to Lighthouse Wind, LLC."  Randy and I have some ownership in Shoreline Fruit, whose manufacturing facility and a 15 acre parcel of land in the Town of Yates were recently sold at an online public auction.  Apex (Lighthouse Wind, LLC.) was the successful bidder for the 15 acre parcel. We have no financial interest in the Lighthouse Wind project moving forward nor does this transaction have any ongoing implications with us personally.  Frankly, we were very disappointed to learn the identity of the purchaser of this parcel of land.  We've been very open about this transaction and I wanted to share the facts with all of you.

On another note, people are always asking, what can I do to help with the fight against Lighthouse Wind?  Please consider submitting comments to the DPS website, especially if you haven’t done so already.  They are being noticed and it will make a difference!  Look back at the message you should have received from SOS on May 3 about upcoming meetings.  It includes more information about comments and links to various websites. Have your friends and family who visit the area write comments.  Consider writing letters to the editor of various publications.  Look at the very bottom of the "Take Action" tab on our website to get more information about editorials.  Make sure your voice is being heard!!

As always, we appreciate your support!

Best regards,

Pam Atwater
