Hello SOS supporters! It was great to see so many of you in Barker Wednesday night to hear Mike Allen’s wonderful presentation. There were over 100 people who came out to learn about Mike’s role in restoring the bald eagle population in New York State. He shared some great photographs and many of his experiences with eagles during a 34 year career with the Department of Environmental Conservation. This amazing history is well chronicled in a book written by Darryl McGrath called “Flight Paths: A Field Journal of Hope, Heartbreak, and Miracles with New York’s Bird People,” available through SUNY Press. Also, congratulations to our TV raffle winner, Norm Jansen!
You may be aware that Apex has sued the Town of Somerset. Apex claims that the town is trying "to further delay and frustrate (the company's) planned development." This was triggered by a decision from the town’s Planning Board to require a full-length environmental impact form. More details on the suit can be found in the following newspaper report: http://buffalonews.com/2016/11/04/wind-power-developer-sues-somerset-over-project-delay/
Come out this week to show your support of our town boards. The Somerset Town Board meeting is on Wed., Nov. 9, at 6:30 p.m. and the Yates Town Board meeting is on Thurs., Nov. 10, at 7 p.m. Let’s rally around our board representatives and let them know we appreciate that they are looking out for our best interests.
