Dear SOS Supporter,

RALLY: It is important that we all continue our active opposition to the Lighthouse Wind project.  On Thursday August 25th SOS is holding a rally from 6-7 p.m at the Golden Hill State Park Boat Launch Pavilion.  We will highlight reasons for our opposition and we are working on several ways of showing the size of these towers.  Please put this date on your calendar and bring along your friends and family.  We are hopeful that the timing of this event will allow for both summer residents and the local community to join together in a show of numbers and support.  We will have new yards signs available at that time and will encourage you to get those out into the towns!  Please consider creating a homemade sign to bring along.

YARD SIGNS: Our yard signs are important to clarify for the community that opposition is growing and that SOS is actively engaged in fighting this project.  We have signs currently available so please email us at info@saveontarioshores.com and arrange to pick one up or volunteers can drop one off.  Consider a donation of $7-10 to cover the cost. Let us know if you just need a new metal frame.

T-SHIRTS: Cindy Hellert is placing an order for yellow T-Shirts with our "No Wind Turbines" logo on the front and "Too Big Too Close" on the back through Rezolutions in Lyndonville.  They are 100% cotton, available in Small through Extra Large.

The cost will be $15 per shirt ($17 for 2x or 3x) with whatever portion over cost being donated to SOS. The more we order, the cheaper the shirt. 2x and 3x are available for an extra $2.00.

We need your order no later than Friday August 5th to have the shirts ready for our rally.  Please email your order to Cindy at chellert@hotmail.com.  She will confirm receipt of order, so if you don't hear back, give her a call at 716-471-0664. Payment can be made to Cynthia Hellert by check or cash at the time of delivery or pick up. We can arrange for either.

PHONE TREE: Having the T-Shirts will allow us to show our numbers and opposition by showing up at local public appearances of statewide elected officials. If you have some flexibility in your daytime schedule and are willing to be part of this effort please send your name and phone number to our email address at info@saveontarioshores.com

TOWN BOARD MEETINGS: Media often show up at town board meetings and there is almost always some community discussion of the Lighthouse Wind Project.  SOS steering committee members are always available after the town board meetings for you to meet and ask questions or give us suggestions.  Please continue to show up at as many of these meetings as possible. (Upcoming meetings: August 4 at 7:30 p.m. – Somerset Planning Board; Aug. 10 at 6:30 p.m. – Somerset Town Board; Aug. 11 at 7 p.m. – Yates Town Board)

WE NEED LETTERS: Please take some time this summer and write a letter to the DPS Website – especially if you have never written before. Consider having your children and grandchildren write, or your friends and neighbors.  If you have a neighbor who is not well versed in the internet perhaps you could assist them.  Input from visitors/tourists is very important as this is an economic issue for our towns.  Please ask visitors to write to the DPS website as well.  Explain how they purchase goods and services in the community and visit regional attractions and that 70 six hundred foot towers are not something they want in their vacation towns. The link to the DPS website is http://documents.dps.ny.gov/public/MatterManagement/CaseMaster.aspx?MatterCaseNo=14-F-0485&submit=Search+by+Case+Number

Keep fighting, folks, and thank you for your continued support. We hope to see you on August 25th!
