From the Chair...

Last season we joined the NW federation league for the first time as an additional external competition during the season. It was an Interesting excursion, but unfortunately we didn’t fair to well against the other camera clubs, but it was valuable experience.

This week we started the new NW fed competition and were drawn against Harrow cc and XRR cc with a very different outcome in the first round. We won on the evening by a clear margin scoring 221 points against XRR 216 and Harrow with 205.  A very satisfying outcome for the first external competition of the new season, which bodes well for the club and our talented membership.

There were more excellent Images on show for our first print league competition (shown as PDIs for practical reasons). The evening was judged by Paul Burwood who gave the critique on the Images. It was an ‘open’ competition with a tremendous amount of subject matter variety within the entered Images. The standard was very good, giving the judge a further headache when selecting the higher scoring Images, holding back a large amount for final scoring.

Thank you to everyone that entered the competition and congratulations to the higher scoring authors on the night.  As always, you can view the winning Images on our excellent website gallery.

About last Saturday...
Studio Day with Ayla Rose

Thank you to all of our photographers that joined us for the first studio day of the season with Ayla Rose.

The day was filed with creative ideas and as always, it was a joy to see our members working to bring their shoot plans to life with a truly remarkable model.  Based on the back of camera shots, we can expect to see some wonderful images in future competitions!

Following a hugely successful studio day, the next full day event will take place in February 2021, so keep your eyes pealed on the newsletter for more information!

XRR Visions 2020

VISIONS
is a digital image trophy competition, held annually.  It is specifically aimed at individual competitors from any PAGB affiliated club.  There is also the option for three individual entrants to be registered as a club team to compete for a separate trophy.

The individual trophy is presented by XRR PS and retained by the individual winner.

The closing date for entries is Wednesday, 4th November 2020, and the final live judging for Visions will be via a Zoom meeting on Wednesday, 25th November. Judging all entries this year will be Richard Speirs DPAGB APAGB BPE2*.

Visit the Visions 2020 website to enter and for more information.

2019/20 Trophy Winners

In light of the current climate, we have not been able to hold our traditional trophy presentation to celebrate our 2019/20 winners.

Of course we still want to ensure our newly crowned winners receive their trophies.  Whilst we acknowledge the circumstances are less than ideal, the club asks that in these unprecedented circumstances, existing holders arrange a convenient time to hand trophies to their new guardians.  Once handovers are complete, please email Vanessa to let her know.  Certificates are also available by email, that can be printed at home.

Full details of which trophy needs to go where are available in the members area of the Club website.

If you need any additional information or have any queries regarding the transfer of trophies, please contact a member of the committee.
