There will be no club meetings at the community centre or portrait socials until further notice.
Due to many of our members self-isolating or socially distancing themselves, the club committee is setting up online meetings instead of meeting face-to-face.
Club Meetings now ONLINE
This Week... You Be the Judge
Unleash the inner judge in you by joining Croxley's first-ever online meeting with video-conferencing! (and no virus)
This Thursday at 8.00 pm we have a members' evening with a difference. We will be taking a close look at some recent entries into the Portrait of Britain competition, discussing and scoring them out of 20. If you have ever held an opinion about a camera club judge in the past (and who hasn't?), now is the time to try judging for yourself - in the comfort of your own home and among friends!
Each member will get the chance to comment on and score at least one image. They are all portraits, of the kind that might be seen in a club competition. Use your eye for a good composition and technical execution to give YOUR verdict - and you can even hold back an image if you're unsure!
These are other people's pictures, not our own, so no one will be offended. It should just be a bit of fun. We may even have a tea break at half time.
The way it works is this: please click on the meeting link below from your computer, at about 7.50 pm. Make sure your speakers are on. If you've not used Zoom video conferencing before, you may be prompted to download some software but it's really simple to do. When you join the meeting you will see everyone else who's already logged in, so please switch your camera and microphone on. As usual Steve will introduce the meeting, which will then be facilitated by Stuart and Cat. We will be using our normal competition software, which you will see on your screen when we start.
If you have never used this type of thing before, don't be afraid: all of us were in the same boat earlier in the week, but we found it really easy to use.
We look forward to welcoming you!
Croxley Camera Club invites you to a scheduled Zoom meeting.
