Today marks the 9th anniversary of the assassination of Adolfo Ich and shooting-paralyzing of German Chub.  On September 27, 2009, Mynor Padilla and other “security” guards under his command –all working for Hudbay Minerals and its then-owned subsidiary company CGN (Compania Guatemalteca de Niquel)– shot and left paralyzed German Chub, a young Mayan Q’eqchi’ father, and then singled out and brutally assassinated Adolfo Ich, a Mayan Q'eqchi' community leader, teacher, father of five, and husband of Angelica Choc.
All respect to the Choc and Ich families.
