Border Prints....ideal for fussy cutting.....
View this email in your browser
Hi to you all....

I keep hearing the same thing from my customers, especially the customers who are involved in my English Paper Piecing monthly kits.......those being the Lucy Boston Blocks & the Old Time Kaleidoscope Blocks,
and that is that they love, love, love to fussy cut their fabric.

Do you like to fussy cut your fabric?

For those beginning to create blocks with fussy-cut elements, it can be daunting to find the fabrics suitable.....which fabric in this shop will be good for fussy cutting???

So to help you out, I've grabbed a selection of   border prints  off the shelves, and packaged them in packs (6 x fat eighths) to get you started, or to have on hand in your stash for the already experienced. My experience is you can never have too many of these border style prints in your stash and they're often hard to source when you want them...........

These are the types of prints you need to create fussy cut elements in your English Paper Pieced blocks, such as Lucy Boston Blocks.

Patchwork Mats

These mats are made from a man-made chamois like fabric, are non-slip, and fantastic for preparing blocks.

I have found these mats to be a great replacement for the ‘unkind’ sandpaper boards.

I use mine to layout EPP pieces, prepare applique, and generally to keep block designs layed out as you piece the elements. Lay your pieces on the mat, then if you need to move to a new workplace (or get your gear off the dining table to eat!!, you can carefully pick it up and move it with your pieces still in position.

I find it's great for glueing as you applique, and simply perfect for assembling clamshell rows. There is just enough non-slip value to keep the pieces from moving as you glue baste.   So here's the "goss" on these mats.................

* non-slip surface, grips table and project firmly

* smooth surface won’t damage your fabrics and tools

* perfect for tracing, basting, glueing, beading, applique, and English Paper Piecing assembly

* takes warm iron, washable, user-friendly black

* easy to carry and store, can be rolled

Available in  A3  and   A4

I like the A3 size for building my Lucy Boston Blocks, as I can work on half the mat then fold it to keep the pieces enclosed if I need to move it. I can then slip it in my cardboard block keeper and off I go.

I love doing the EPP glue basting on the mat. It's the perfect surface.

Now it's time to release another  Old Time Kaleidoscope Block

I cant believe we're up to number 5.

I need to tell you this little story.....I was doing a little (well maybe BIG!)  happy dance recently when I had an enquiry from Portugal. Thankyou to my lovely customer/s who belong to a facebook group of avid fussy cutting lovers who posted a photo of their finished Kaleidoscope Block on their facebook page. Well you can guess the rest....Assisted by the ease of communication across the world nowadays........ and...... yes I am now posting the Old Time Kaleidoscope Blocks to
Seems like a common event to most I guess, but for me I am very humbled to think my designs are creating interest so far away, and I keep pinching myself to be sure I'm not dreaming!....

Please be reminded, if you have a small order and realise that the flat-rate shipping of $7.50 will be excessive in that instance, simply email or phone me and I will sort out your order personally and apply the postage at cost. I am very happy to do this. Postage calculation for online website orders continues to be the trickiest thing to navigate, and I aim to make it fair for you.

I hope you all slide into an enjoyable weekend. It is very hot here in the northern part of NSW, and I am hoping we get a little relief for the weekend.

Happy sewing
