Job Trek Event CANCELED (but good news too)

No Job Trekkers coming to Chicago this year.  I hear it is attributable to few internship opportunities and a combination of tight scheduling between the end of finals and the start of the holidays. While this frees up your Thursday evening let me know if your company would like to host a summer intern.

Now two bits of good news... One, there is a chance that the new Dean, Scott Beardsley, will visit Chicago this April.  Two, D'87 Raymond Lambert has something special for us (read below)...

Would you leave your successful Investment Banking career to launch a startup in an industry you have no experience?  What if your startup helped the early careers of comedian Chris Rock, Oscar winner Jamie Foxx, the tv/radio host of everything Steve Harvey, the late Bernie Mac, the great Dave Chappelle, and dozens more...  Then a documentary was made about you that earned great acclaim.  Then you become a producer and your latest movie about Maya Angelou was just selected for the 2016 Sundance Film Festival.  Sounds crazy but taking that risk is what D'87 Raymond Lambert did and he is sharing his behind the scenes entrepreneurial and entertainment story with our Darden Chicago alumni.  Stay tuned as we're working on event details but you can order Raymond's book All Jokes Aside  or rent the documentary Phunny Business from Amazon... or, you can stay in that safe banking job.
D'07 Eliot Offutt left ZS Associates to become Principal at Anaplan, a SaaS planning and modeling platform.
D'07 Matt Dominy is now the Marketing Director at OneGo, an unlimited flight service company for frequent travelers.
D'13 Julie Young is now a Director at Prudential Capital Group
D'76 Thomas Fogerty, D'90 John Berkley and D'10 Patrick Ryan are all doing great volunteer work

If you're thinking about or want information about a summer '16 intern, or a subsidized Batten Venture Intern, contact me for more info, email: DardenChicago@gmail.com
HELP NEEDED - Darden Chicago is looking for the next set of chapter leaders to take charge and lead-on !  We need help with event ideas and planning, specifically if you have something to share (thanks to D'87 Raymond Lambert) space to host an event (e.g. office for a presentation or home for a BBQ or winter gathering - we can collect funds if needed). Please email me with ideas and ability to help.
