“Jennifer,” a single mom of three, was struggling to provide for her young children, and her kids were at risk of being taken from her and placed in foster care. They needed help with furnishings—specifically beds for the kids—to stay together.
Our team provided Journey Bags, beds and bedding. While we set up their home, 7-year-old “Addison” followed us everywhere, saying “thank you, thank you…I’ve never had a bed to sleep in before.”
Such a common thing we take for granted! Our “little things” are often big things in the life of a child—especially children in the foster care community. Addison not only received a bed of her own, she received the gift of feeling “normal.”
