Special Coffee Hour This Sunday
Jason and Sylvia will be hosting a special coffee hour this week to bid farewell to our interim minister, Keith Cerk. Treats this week feature home-made apple pies from our own HPUC kitchen!
On December 16 during Second Hour, we’ll be assembling layettes for new mothers and babies at Jackson Park Hospital. Please join us to share Christmas cheer with neighbors in need.
Welcome to our new co-pastors, Veronica Johnson and Sarah Lusche! Their first day with us will be December 17 and they will be leading worship beginning on December 23.
Our partners organizations could use your help this season
The Hyde Park Refugee Project, a program of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council, seeks support for its work with the children of Middle Eastern refugees in Hyde Park.
HPRP says, though the kids they tutor have made wonderful progress in school, as they get older they are expected to have computers to complete homework and take advantage of online enrichment. HPRP hopes to raise $5,000 to make Chromebook computers available to their middle and high school students. Any donation would help ensure a successful future for these bright, determined children.
Tax deductible donations can be sent to the

(with Refugee Project on the memo line).
We remember those facing health problems: Noema, who injured her hand, Bonnie's adopted mother who is in hospice, Sabine's friend who is suffering with a tumor, Jennifer Adams' brother, Will; Alice Mulberry's Daughter-in-law Jennifer who is battling cancer; Louise's Son; and Larry's brother-in-law. Our prayers are also with their loved ones and caregivers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Tony Montag.
Then a shoot will spring from the stem of Jesse, And a branch from his roots will bear fruit. The Spirit of the LORD will rest on Him, The spirit of wisdom and understanding, The spirit of counsel and strength, The spirit of knowledge and the fear of the LORD. And He will delight in the fear of the LORD, And He will not judge by what His eyes see, Nor make a decision by what His ears hear.
