A Word from the Pastors
“I have not stopped giving thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers.”
Ephesians 1:16

Loving God, we pray today, first, for the members and friends of Hyde Park Union Church. Thank you Lord, for all of the blessings you have bestowed on us. We are simply grateful for the privilege of prayer… that we serve a God who hears us when we pray, and a God who answers!  Thank you for the love that is evident in our congregation. We ask for healing for those who are sick, comfort for those who are in discomfort or grieving, encouragement for those who are discouraged.   There are many among us who are in need of your healing touch. Grant them healing, grant them peace. In Jesus name…

Lord, we also come to you on behalf of federal workers who are without income due to the government shutdown. We pray that the needs of the people take priority over political standoffs. We pray that the outcome is one that leads to “loving our neighbor, as ourselves.”

In this wintry weather, we are particularly mindful of the homeless population in our city. Lord, please care for them, and teach us to do the same.

As we close this month of January, 2019, we recognize how swiftly time moves. May you guide our steps so that we use time wisely, and may You walk with us every step of the way.
In Jesus Name we Pray.
Amen

Your Pastors,
Pastor V and Pastor Sarah

Bible Study Poll

We are planning to kick off a new Bible Study series during the next couple of weeks, and want to know what days/times are best for the majority of people. We heard from folks during last Sunday’s coffee hour, but we wanted to provide the opportunity to hear from others in our community. The link below will take you to a quick online poll, where you can indicate which times of day work best for you.

We are blessed with a diverse congregation, which means that there is no day or time that will work for everyone. We are planning to switch up the meeting time for each Bible Study unit, so that people who are unable to attend our upcoming study might be able to attend a future series.

If you have further thoughts on a Bible Study theme or question, feel free to reach out to either of us! We look forward to learning and growing together as a church community.
