The first two services of our pastorate at Hyde Park Union Church were wonderful! We want to extend a special Thank You to every member and friend who helped make both Sunday and Christmas Eve so special! The sermon talk-back following pastor Sarah’s sermon was a wonderful time sharing. The Christmas Eve Candlelight service drew in members, friends, and students who remained on campus, as well as members of the HP Korean Church, Greater Bethesda M. B. Church, and Ellis Ave Church. Again, we are grateful for the hospitality shown to us and to all guests.
As we approach the end of 2018, we are looking ahead to all that the year of 2019 will hold for Hyde Park Union Church. We, as your pastors, look forward to getting to know more about your hopes for the church and for the ministry of HPUC.
One thing is sure: God has called us to be the Body of Christ! (1 Corinthians 12:27)
We look forward to exploring, together, the work that God will call us to in 2019: the people God is calling us to serve, the causes God is calling us to support, the injustices God is calling us to address. Remain prayerful as the new year arrives, for 2019 promises to bring something New for Hyde Park Union Church!
Yours in Christ!
Pastor Veronica & Pastor Sarah
We look forward to meeting everyone. If you would like to have a meeting or pastoral care visit, please contact the church office to make an appointment, or directly contact one of the pastors using the information below.
Our partners organizations could use your help this season
The Hyde Park Refugee Project, a program of the Hyde Park-Kenwood Interfaith Council, seeks support for its work with the children of Middle Eastern refugees in Hyde Park.
HPRP says, though the kids they tutor have made wonderful progress in school, as they get older they are expected to have computers to complete homework and take advantage of online enrichment. HPRP hopes to raise $5,000 to make Chromebook computers available to their middle and high school students. Any donation would help ensure a successful future for these bright, determined children.
Tax deductible donations can be sent to the

We remember those facing health problems: Noema, who injured her hand, Bonnie's adopted mother who is in hospice, Sabine's friend who is suffering with a tumor, Jennifer Adams' brother, Will; Alice Mulberry's Daughter-in-law Jennifer who is battling cancer; Louise's Son; and Larry's brother-in-law. Our prayers are also with their loved ones and caregivers.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Tony Montag.
On coming to the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they bowed down and worshiped him. Then they opened their treasures and presented him with gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh. And having been warned in a dream not to go back to Herod, they returned to their country by another route.
