Summer Potluck Party
FRIDAY, JUNE 19, 7:30 P.M.
Sally & Rick's House: 2513 Covington Ct., Murrysville

UPDATE: Since Murrysville's Administrator did not approve my request to continue to use the meeting room, I asked the Murrysville library staff about reserving the smaller, inner room (where we began our meetings last year). The only day of the week that they could assure us of a regular reservation is Monday, though not during the summer because of the children's reading program.
Therefore, starting in August, our regular meetings will be the
LAST MONDAY of each month, 6:30-8:00 p.m., at the room inside the Murrysville Community Library.
Mark your calendars for the following Monday evenings in 2015:
  • August 31
  • September 28
  • October 26
  • November 30
  • December 28
I will continue to send out reminders and agenda items before each meeting. Also, please share any ideas you have and, as always, reach out to others who might want to learn about options for healthy, delicious plant-based eating.

At our last meeting, Larry was searching for oil-free salad dressings. In his honor :>)     here are several online recipes:

Oil-free dressing & dips (Steve Kantrowitz) on the recipe site @ nutritionstudies.org

Also, here is the Ultimate Plant-based Nutrition Resource Guide put together by the Plantrician Project. Though primarily aimed at healthcare professionals, the site contains information useful for all of us.

Friday, June 19, 7:30 p.m. This is the first of our seasonal potluck parties. Bring a plant-based APPETIZER or DESSERT. Spouses, friends, family members are welcomed!

This new book provides a comprehensive, reader-friendly overview of how to start and maintain a plant-based lifestyle. Lindsay Nixon provides recipes, as well as helpful information about shopping, traveling, social situations, dealing with family/ friends, allergies, and cooking substitutions. This is a useful resource for novices, as well as those who want to reinforce habits and learn tips about plant-based  living.
If you want to buy a copy for yourself or a gift, I bought bulk copies at half off--that's
$10. Let me know, and I will reserve one for you.
