Meeting Agenda
- SHARING RECIPES: What dishes have you prepared using fresh, in-season vegetables and fruits? Bring a recipe to share (even if you haven't tried it, but it looks good!) I will bring blank recipe cards, but you also can take phone photos of each others' recipes or use the library's copy machine (I think it is 15 cents).
- Q & A: Please bring your questions, news items, and any other relevant information!
Has anyone cooked with the grain Amaranth? We discussed this grain in a recent class; here is a recipe I got from yogalean:
Amaranth Fruit & Nut Cereal
- 1 C. amaranth
- 2 C. water or plant-based milk
- 1/2 C. almond milk
- 1 Tbsp. vanilla, almond, maple, or cinnamon flavoring
- Combine the ingredients in a pot.
- Bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer, stirring occasionally.
- When liquid is almost absorbed, add fruit & nuts, as you like.
- Stir until the liquid is absorbed.
How Much Longer Do Fruit & Vegetable Eaters Live? Check out Dr. Michael Greger's video; you might be surprised (or not!).
